A status page for travel and tourism businesses
Travellers book far ahead and need help at awkward hours. A public status page lets them check whether the problem is yours before they panic.
Why travel firms need to be clear
Trips involve money and tight timings, so even a small fault can worry people.
- The booking site or payment page fails during a busy sales period.
- The booking confirmation emails are delayed, and customers think nothing went through.
- The phone line is overloaded after disruption elsewhere.
- Customers check social media for news and find none.

How a status page helps a travel business
It is a public notice board for your booking systems, nothing more complicated than that.

Worked example: delayed booking confirmations
A fictional tour operator, Saltmarsh Tours, finds that confirmation emails are going out late.
The team posts a notice
Confirmation emails is set to Degraded performance, with a note that bookings are safe even if the email is late.
The link is shared
The website banner and phone message mention the status page.
The email provider catches up
The team posts Monitoring while the backlog clears.
It is resolved
The status returns to Operational and the incident stays on the history page.
This is an illustration of how the features fit together, not a real customer story.
Frequently asked questions
Can I reach someone already travelling?
Only partly. Orbis Status can send email, and SMS to UK mobile numbers on Startup and above. For emergencies, make sure customers have a separate contact route.
Does it track flights or disruption?
No. It only shows the status of your own systems, as set by your team.
Does it work in other languages?
You write your own updates, in whatever language you choose. Nothing is translated for you.
