A status page for law and accountancy firms
Clients upload documents and submit information through your portal, often close to a deadline. When it fails, a clear public notice builds trust.
Why a fault matters more near deadlines
Professional firms work to fixed dates. A portal fault at the wrong time is stressful for everyone.
- The client portal or secure upload is down close to a filing deadline.
- Clients are unsure whether a document has arrived or not.
- The phone system has a fault, and urgent calls are missed.
- Partners and staff give different answers to the same question.

How a status page helps a professional firm
It is for service status only. Never put client or matter details on a public page.

Worked example: a portal fault before a deadline
A fictional accountancy practice, Pemberton & Hale, has its document portal fail two days before a tax deadline.
The office manager posts
Client portal is set to Partial outage, with an alternative way to send documents.
Clients are told by email
Subscribed clients receive the update, and the link is added to the phone message.
The supplier restores service
The manager posts Monitoring after checking a test upload.
The firm closes the loop
The resolved update explains who to contact if an upload did not arrive.
This is an illustration of how the features fit together, not a real customer story.
Frequently asked questions
Can I include client details in an update?
No. Public pages can be read by anyone, so describe only which service is affected. A private page limits who can read it but is still not the place for client details.
Does it make my firm look less reliable?
Clients tend to value being told. An honest page with a history can be reassuring, but it is your call.
Does it test the portal for us?
No. Orbis Status does not check anything. Your team posts, or your own tools call the API.
